Trevarno virtual tour

The Trevarno Estate dates back to the thirteenth century. At the heart of the estate are 70 acres of gardens featuring one of Cornwall's largest and most diverse plant collections.

In 1874 the estate was bought by the Bickford-Smith family, descendants of William Bickford, inventor of the miner's safety fuse. It is currently in private ownership.

Our virtual tour includes some of the Garden's most beautiful and interesting features. The Lake and Victorian boat house has been a feature of the gardens since the mid nineteenth century. The Italian garden, thought to have been originally created by William Bickford-Smith in the mid nineteenth century, was redesigned in the 1960's. The Fountain Garden Conservatory, formerly part of the house, opens onto the main lawn and the National Museum of Gardening contains a vast collection of gardening tools dating back to the seventeenth century.
