Valentines Day

It’s only the Christmas season now, but the new year will be here before we know it, and after that it will be time for people to start thinking about Valentine’s Day, that special holiday for people who are in romantic relationships. You'll want to give it some advance consideration, so that whatever gifts you give or events you plan don’t come across as being last minute ideas. After all, this is a holiday about showing someone how much you care. So, while you will almost certainly want to pick up some nice wine at Marks & Spencer or maybe an arrangement of roses from a nearby florist, you will also want to make sure to have something unique planned.

One good way to start planning is to consider the unique aspects of the area you are in. Every town and region in the world has its special charms, and these charms – pleasant atmospheres, great food and drink, etc. – are emphasized during holidays. For this reason, you should take full advantage of your surroundings, and look for romantic activities and places to go in Cornwall, where you have plenty of great options for places to go, even if you simply want to keep things casual and head out to a nice pub or restaurant with your significant other.

The Kota Restaurant in Porthleven is a casual but original restaurant with fine food and wine and, occuppying a cozy and romantic setting down by the water’s edge, is a perfect spot for a romantic dinner on Valentine’s Day. Kota is Maori for shellfish (Chef/owner Jude Kereama is half Maori, quarter Chinese and quarter Malaysian) and the restaurant is renowned for its stunning seafood with Jude’s signature light Asian twist.

This is obviously just a single suggestion for a nice place to go in Cornwall for Valentine’s Day. Take a look at our Places to Stay and Food and Drink sections for some other great Valentine's day ideas.
