Music and dance is a big part of the City of Lights parade with Samba bands and exotically costumed dancers accompanying the lantern procession.

Musicians and dancers in the 2008 parade included Truro School of Samba, Samba Celtica, Samba di Roselanda, Carrick Wind Orchestra and musicians from primary and secondary schools including Penair, Richard Lander, Shortlanesend and Porthleven.
