The Smugglers' cottage, dating from the 15th century, is situated at Tolverne, on the Roseland (Eastern) side of the river Fal. During World War II the Cottage was requisitioned and the road and beach built as an embarkation point for the D-Day landings. The Cottage serves morning coffees, lunches and cream teas during the summer and is licensed.
