Earlier this year in July, on one of those days when the sun decided to make an all-day appearance, we went to St Ives and got busy producing panoramas of all the interesting things there are to see there. It’s taken a while, but we’re very pleased with the results which you can now see in our St Ives virtual tour.
You can’t go to St Ives on a sunny day and not spend some time on the beach, we visited all four. You’ve been able to make a virtual visit to Porthmeor since the beginning of 2007, now you can also see Porthgwidden, Porthminster and the Harbour beach.
There’s much more to St Ives than beaches, though, and as well as Market Place, Fore Street and other parts of the town you can also enjoy spectacular 360 degree views from Smeaton’s Pier and the Isand. While you’re there, take a look inside the fishermen’s chapels of St Leonard’s and St Nicholas’. It’s easy to miss these hidden gems, but they’re free to enter and give you a real insight into Cornwall’s past.
This is just the beginning and we plan to add much more of St Ives to the site in the future. In fact, we’ll be announcing a very exciting addition to the St Ives tour in just a few days.
