Porthminster beach is a generous stretch of pale yellow sand conveniently situated almost directly below St Ives railway station in South West Cornwall. If you're planning a car-free beach day, Porthminster has just about everything you need. The white building you can see in the far corner of the beach is Cornwall's renowned Porthminster Beach Cafe, which serves superb food with a view to match. If you tire of the beach, you can walk into town in about five minutes.
